About the Blog

Welcome to You Remind Me of the Frame, a site dedicated to ‘overthinking’ all the best things about media! I write articles about some of my favourite films and shows in an attempt to find more things to love about them, and study the filmmaking which makes them so fantastic. My goal is to celebrate the shots, the scenes, the moments which stay with audiences.

Most of the clips I discuss can be found on YouTube. I would recommend any of the films or series highlighted on this page.

About Me

My name is Brenna Goodwin-McCabe (She/Her), although I go by MissMacabre on this blog. I approach cinema from a feminist Canadian perspective and focus on critical analysis.

My writing on science fiction, fantasy, and horror cinema has been presented at McGill, Dalhousie, and the University of British Columbia. In 2019, I was awarded a prestigious Social Sciences and Humanities Research grant for my Masters thesis on Mary Shelley and Guillermo del Toro. I am also a published author and filmmaker.
