About the Blog
Welcome to You Remind Me of the Frame, a site dedicated to ‘overthinking’ all the best things about media. I write articles about some of my favourite films and shows in an attempt to find more things to love about them, and study the filmmaking which makes them so fantastic. My goal is to celebrate the shots, the scenes, the moments which stay with audiences.
Many of the clips I discuss can be found on YouTube. I would generally recommend any of the films or series highlighted on this page.

About Me
My name is Brenna Goodwin-McCabe (She/Her), although I go by MissMacabre on this blog. I approach cinema from a feminist Canadian perspective and focus on critical analysis.
I’ve presented writing on science fiction, fantasy, and horror cinema at McGill, Dalhousie, and the University of British Columbia, where I completed my Masters of English degree with a thesis on Mary Shelley and Guillermo del Toro. This film blog is a continuation of my academic work, often focusing on horror, Gothic cinema, and literary adaptation.
I am also a published author and award-winning filmmaker, showcasing my writer director work at Hearth Pictures, while currently developing my first feature film.
